Overview

Equipping the Youth of the Nation with the Opportunities to Excel and Act as Agents of Change

The TTRCS views the youth of the nation as both the future and the most vulnerable members of society as they are tasked with taking up the mantle of being the future leaders of the country while battling personal and socioeconomic challenges such as violence, mental health issues, unemployment and climate change. Despite this, the TTRCS believes in providing young persons with the opportunities to excel and act as agents of change.

The Trailblazers Club is an initiative aimed at providing students in secondary schools ages 12-18 with the skills and knowledge they need to be disaster resilient. The club was created to fill the education gap on resiliency as it would provide them with essential tools needed to access to disaster preparedness skills and life education skills. The club offers a variety of activities, including workshops, training sessions, and community outreach.

The Youth Link is an initiative that targets primary school students to also provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to be disaster resilient. Children ages 5-11 are enrolled with the Red Cross through their respective schools and would be provided with workshops, training sessions and materials and this would allow them to contribute to humanitarian efforts.

Community Champions aims to provide youth outside of compulsory school age but up to 35 as well as migrants ages 5-35 who do not have a right of access to the education system with the necessary skills and tools to be disaster resilient in their communities. In addition to resiliency, these youth would also be able to aid the development of their communities.
