Menstrual Health & Hygiene

“Communities and countries and ultimately the world are only as strong as the health of their women.” – Michelle Obama

WHAT IS KNOW YOUR FLOW?

WHAT IS KNOW YOUR FLOW?

The Know Your Flow (KYF) program by the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society (TTRCS) is a comprehensive initiative aimed at addressing menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) as a critical public health issue. Recognizing that menstruation is a normal biological process experienced by millions globally, the program seeks to go beyond traditional menstrual hygiene management by incorporating aspects related to sexual and reproductive health, psychosocial support, education, and gender equality.

The program is designed to support all menstruators, including vulnerable groups such as individuals living with disabilities, migrants, and non-binary persons. Through evidence-based advocacy, educational challenges, and community engagement, the Know Your Flow program aims to break the stigma surrounding menstruation. This will improve access to necessary resources, and promote a holistic approach to menstrual health in Trinidad and Tobago.

(KYF) GOAL

To Mainstream Menstrual Health and Hygiene as an issue of public health, human rights, gender equality and social inclusion through an evidence-based advocacy platform that generates policies, funding, and action across all sectors.
