VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHT
“ Volunteering for the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross has been a deeply meaningful experience so far. Assisting with registration during the Migrant Health Clinics allowed me to directly engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds, with a team of dedicated volunteers and health professionals. It was truly inspirational to witness this project spearheaded by the the TTRCS employees, who not only orchestrated the provision of medical care, but also engendered a sense of dignity and support to those in vulnerable situations. Assisting with the registration process gave me the opportunity to not only connect with people on a personal level and understand their challenges but also helped me understand humanitarian aid from a practical aspect. This experience has deepened my commitment to humanitarian work, reminding me of the power of community and the vital role we all play in supporting each other.”

“Hi everyone, I'm Sharon Maraj.
I am a part of the TTRCS Volunteer Translators Team.
My journey began when I decided to dip my toes into the world of volunteerism because I had a skill that was sitting dormant & the opportunity to practice whilst giving back arose.
My experience in this role has been nothing but fulfilling. In an almost inexplicable way it rejuvenates my spirit to be able to bridge the gap between humanitarians and humanity. I have been allowed the platform to meet people in frustration & watch them leave with smiles on their faces. To connect with communities. And to - in some cases be a part of life altering moments in someone's story.
My fellow volunteers have also left me with a sense of inspiration. It is my believe that the passion that the staff of The TTRCS has been passed along to everyone involved.
In closing, there is a sign hung at the Red Cross Compound that caught my eye and continues to influence me. "Alone we can do so little but together we can do so much."
